new year’s resolutions
this will be the year i…
- get my driver’s license
- find a job
- finish reading through the entire Bible
- start reading for leisure again
- be better at keeping in touch with people
this will be the year i…
ALOT. much more than i ever thought i would…i mean, as much as ravana and i loved to laugh at the ridiculous things that we did/were said in class, looking back on it now - i really do miss it…especially when i read about all the things going on in the world these days and think how my professors would be having a field day right now…japan and china’s land dispute? pakistan/US relations? the elections? oh man…call me a nerd at heart, but suddenly i really wish i was in school again.
and ::gasp:: i think i even miss those overly talkative classmates of mine (yes, we all have a couple of those in our classes)…as annoying as they might’ve been, at least they sorta knew what they were talking about for the most part? which can’t be said for alot of people i encounter these days [can i just go off on a tangent for a sec and say that it annoys me to no end when people have no idea what’s happening in the world they live in…sorry guys, you’re smarter than that, read or watch the news and stay informed!]
i definitely don’t miss all the reading though.
i think it’s finally hit me that i’m unemployed and that i should be actively job hunting…the end result? applied to 8 jobs yesterday! including one that would require me to work from 9am-8pm everyday (yes, i realize i might possibly be crazy)…but really, after Fall 09 when i worked part-time 10 hours a week, interned at City Hall 11 hours a week, was LG Coordinator, and a full-time student on top of all that, working full-time really shouldn’t be that bad, right?
and now that i’m on a roll with job apps - next order of business, all those cards that still need to be written…
it is true…i have finally begun the job hunt! time to stop procrastinating and write cover letters like it’s my job.
the ironic part? i was going through some old documents and came across the last cover letter i wrote. it was dated 2 years ago to the day.
